Knitted Clowns needed for the very poor children of Kosovo

Knitted clowns were among some of the most popular toys Hope and Aid Direct have ever taken on an aid convoy.

Do you know of anyone who would knit some more for us?

The basic format is very much like the knitted teddies that many groups already donate to us for our twice yearly convoys of aid to Kosovo.

Hope and Aid Direct would love to take hundreds of Convoy Clowns with them on every trip, can you help?

If you are a member of a knitting group perhaps you would like to help Hope and Aid Direct by knitting them some more clowns.

A toy like this can bring so much comfort to a children who have absolutely nothing, not even enough food to help them grow properly. Many of the children we meet whilst distributing aid, are obviously malnourished.
Hope and Aid Direct take a convoy of aid twice a year, which is asking a lot from members of an entirely volunteer organisation who have to spend nearly all their spare time fund raising and collecting in donated items to take on the next convoy. These same volunteers often then use their annual holiday leave to go on the two week drive and distribution of this essential aid to Kosovo.

Please help if you can. Perhaps you have friends that also knit and you could all get together every so often and knit up half a dozen clowns. You would be making six more children so happy.

Five free-standing 48cm (19") characters. Sidney Slapstick, O. Yummy, Godfrey Gadabout, Bertie Bloomer and Mr. Fortywinks.
Each Clown comes complete with hilarious accessories.

THANK YOU FROM ALL THE CHILDREN WAITING FOR A CLOWN

There are several groups of knitters in the UK who currently make teddies for use by charities that are helping children in countries where war or natural disasters have left them poor and often also homeless.

What an excellent way to use up all those odd balls of wool you seem to accumulate.

Please ensure the stuffing used in your clown is both non-toxic and washable, thank you.
